02How yield accrues

syrupUSDC is an ERC-4626 vault token. Holders deposit USDC into Maple's institutional lending pools; capital is allocated to vetted credit deals (over-collateralised loans to crypto-native trading firms, market makers, and treasuries) underwritten by the Maple risk team. Senior coupons accrue continuously into the pool, growing the share's redeemable USDC value. The current convertToAssets(1e18) ≈ 1.16 USDC per syrupUSDC is the realised yield since the wrapper launched. Fluid imports this per-share yield into the LL accounting via the CappedRateERC4626_SYRUPUSDC handler, so the borrow rate on USDC against syrupUSDC collateral is set just below the syrupUSDC supply yield, leaving a small but reliable carry.
